ORDINANCE 2021-4 AMENDING 2016-2 FIREWORKS

 ORDINANCE NO.    2021-4

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 2016-2

WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 2016-2 was passed by the City Council of Dover,

Arkansas to regulate the sale and use of fireworks in the city limits of Dover, and

WHEREAS, the City Council of Dover, Arkansas has determined that

Ordinance No. 2016-2 is in need of amendment

NOW, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF DOVER, ARKANSAS:

  1. Ordinance 2016-2, Section 2 shall be amended to read as follows:

“Section 2: It shall be lawful for any person to explode, shoot, or use any fireworks, roman candles, skyrockets, or other fireworks in the city limits of Dover, Arkansas during the following time periods only:

  1. June 20th through July 3 rd from 10:00am to 10:00pm.
  2. The Fourth of July Holiday from July 4th at 10:00am to July 5th at 12:30am and July 5th from 10:00a.m. to 10:00p.m.
  3. December 24th through December 30th from 10:00am to 10:00pm.
  4. The New Years holiday from December 31 st at 10:00am to January 1st at 12:30am.

During such other periods of time allowed by state and/or federal law; Fireworks may also be used, exploded, or shot at the Dover High School and Dover Jr. High School football games if proper permits have been issued and if said fireworks are used under the direct supervision of school officials with the school administration’s consent; and

  1. Fireworks may also be used, exploded, or shot by the Dover Chamber of Commerce at Ozark Memories Days, or their agent/designee at said event, if proper permits have been issued and if said fireworks are used under the direct supervision of the Dover Chamber of Commerce.”
  1. Ordinance No. 2016-2 is hereby amended as set forth above, and any other ordinances, resolutions or parts of other resolutions or ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
  2. EMERGENCY CLAUSE: This Ordinance being necessary to preserve the health, safety and welfare of the citizens of Dover, Arkansas an emergency is hereby declared to exist, and this Ordinance shall go into full effect upon its passage
